World-Class Quality and Food Safety
Quality measures are in place both at the source and on-site at distribution to
ensure Fishery Products delivers unmatched quality seafood that exceeds customer
expectations. Our Quality Assurance team is made up of more than 15 dedicated employees
positioned worldwide to fully inspect our commodity products in sourced plants.
Overseas quality monitoring is followed up with a secondary finished product testing
before receipt into inventory. FPI's cutting-edge QA laboratory, staffed with over
20 QA professionals, is strategically located on site at the FPI headquarter distribution
center ensuring the utmost control over quality and safety of our sourced products.
FPI's U.S. Portsmouth and Danvers plants are SQF certified under the Global Food
Safety Initiative (GFSI). In addition, to guarantee food safety for every sourced
shipment, Certificates of Analysis (COA) for chemical and biological contamination
are collected and random third-party verification is conducted to assure the accuracy
of these COA reports. We also conduct microbiological tests on every lot of ready-to-eat
products including lobster meat and cooked shrimp.
